ALERT - ALERT - ALERT |
Be on the lookout for a black Maserati when you ride through Rancho Santa Fe. Two Saturdays ago, the D-3’s were on El Camino del Norte when the car came within inches of hitting several riders. Then, at the regroup point, a rider said the driver aimed the Maserati directly at her and she had to dodge out of the way. The car’s mirror did graze another rider’s leg. He’s alright. No one was injured and no crashes, this time. The driver was going fast, and no one had a chance to get his/her license plate number. We want to identify and report this driver, so get those helmet cams out and let’s see if we can find this nut before he hurts someone.

A Note from the Training Director |
D-5 Rider Leaders Wanted for the Summer
|
Our D-5 beginners ride has been on hiatus. It’s summer and we’re seeing more D-5 riders showing up on Saturdays, while still others are emailing us about when the D-5 ride will start. We’ll restart this ride for the summer (June 7th - August 30th) if we can recruit three or four volunteers to lead it. It’s an 8-12 mile ride, which teaches cycling basics. If you volunteer you would likely lead only three or four rides. Patience is the top skill needed, and a desire to help new riders find the joy and love of cycling. Is that you? If it is, please email Training Director Mike McLaughlin at training@sdbc.org.

SDBC Club Photo |
SDBC Club Photo
June 7, 2014 |
It's been a couple of years since we had a club photo so we plan to accomplish this on June 7th. Wear the club kit for this year to participate in the photo shoot.
We would like to have as many members as possible in the photo. This is important when reaching out to potential sponsors so mark your calendar and be prepared to bring your brightest smiles. |

Last Call Helmets! |
They’re almost gone
The Club has a few of the brand new, still-in-the-box green Scott helmets left: Four larges and three smalls. First come-first served. Pick yours up Saturday morning before the Club rides.
|
Cost is $50 per helmet - regular retail is $160. Payment is by cash, check – payable to SDBC, or credit card. We prefer checks, but however you want to pay is fine.
Click here for more information about the helmet on the BobShop.com web site.
This is the end of the very last order, so when they’re gone, they’re gone.
If you previously ordered a helmet, have not picked it up, and have received an email from us, then yes, we are holding that helmet for you. Please pick it up on Saturday, or make pick up arrangements. If you don't it will be released for sale.

A Note from the Clothing Director |
New Summer SDBC White Jersey
A white summer jersey has been released in the Men's Ascent AIR, Men's Summit Pro, Women's Ascent AIR styles.
Visit the Pactimo store to order. |
The 2014 kit design is shown below - larger images are now available by clicking on each view. |
|
The Pactimo store is open. To access the Team Store from the club web site, click on Members, then SDBC Clothing, and follow the directions on the page. If this is the first time you have ordered clothing from Pactimo, you will need to create your personal account.
Please be sure of your sizing. Pactimo and SDBC are NOT responsible if you order the wrong size. Use the following link to access the Pactimo Custom Clothing sizing chart.
A Note On Pricing
The clothing committee worked very hard in negotiating prices with Pactimo. Despite almost across-the-board price increases on garments, we're keeping the prices of many popular items the same as last year. In cases where we have raised prices, we have kept the increase as small as possible.

For Sale: Ay-up Complete Lighting System
I am selling my Ay-Up complete lighting system because I got a new kit for a gift. I used these lights for night MTB rides. They provide plenty of light to have a wonderful night ride. The light is bright and clear. You can read about Ay-Up lights here: http://www.ayup-lights.com/
These lights are also very good for road riding commuters. The kit has tons of stuff. 3 batteries for all occasions, chargers (including car), mounts and etc. The kits retail for $380+shipping brand new. The batteries last a long time. I've never had my lights run out of juice on a night ride. $150 is the price so don't send me messages with other offers. The lights are guaranteed for life and practically indestructible.
