Inaugural Tri-National Benefit Bike Tour |
Please check this out!
Featured rider Raul Alcala became the first Mexican cyclist to compete in the Tour de France and won 2 stages. In 2010, at age 46, he won the national time trial championship for his country.
He will also be attending the SDBC Sunday Ride along with his wife, Mercedes. Please see Sunday Ride for details.
An SDBC member, J. Armando Valencia, is co-organizing this event, a metric century that takes place on Saturday, June 14. Whereas the price was $60, he is now offering a discounted price at $35 for the metric century (use ccoupon code FCC25) and $25 for the 50K rice (use coupon code FCC15). All funds will be matched dollar for dollar by sponsor.
This great cause will help restore vision to children—all children who come—whether their parents can afford to pay or not. It is called Tri-National because it is a collaboration of US, Mexico, and Canada participation. It is benefitting the Hospital Infantil de las Californias in Tijuana by raising funds to provide much needed opthamology surgery equiptment.
It is not a particularly difficult ride but it does contain a climb up Honey Springs, which can be challenging. There are lots of rides that benefit lots of causes. This is one put on by a fellow SDBC rider trying to do some good for future citizens of our planet. See if this rings a little bell in your heart and join in if you are willing and able.
Please check it out at www.regonline.com/trinationalbenefittour

Last Call for Scott Helmets! |
They’re almost gone
Here’s whats left: 2 x-small; 2 small; and 3 large. That’s it. And when they’re gone they are gone, and the Club is out of the helmet business.
|
First come-first served. Pick yours up Saturday morning before the Club rides. Cost is $50 per helmet - regular retail is $160. Payment is by cash, check - payable to SDBC, or credit card. We prefer checks, but however you want to pay is fine.
Click here for more information about the helmet on the BobShop.com web site.
This is the end of the very last order, so when they’re gone, they’re gone.
If you previously ordered a helmet, have not picked it up, and have received an email from us, then yes, we are holding that helmet for you. Please pick it up on Saturday, or make pick up arrangements. If you don't it will be released for sale.

A Note from the Clothing Director |
New Summer SDBC White Jersey
A white summer jersey has been released in the Men's Ascent AIR, Men's Summit Pro, Women's Ascent AIR styles.
Visit the Pactimo store to order. |
The 2014 kit design is shown below - larger images are now available by clicking on each view. |
|
The Pactimo store is open. To access the Team Store from the club web site, click on Members, then SDBC Clothing, and follow the directions on the page. If this is the first time you have ordered clothing from Pactimo, you will need to create your personal account.
Please be sure of your sizing. Pactimo and SDBC are NOT responsible if you order the wrong size. Use the following link to access the Pactimo Custom Clothing sizing chart.
A Note On Pricing
The clothing committee worked very hard in negotiating prices with Pactimo. Despite almost across-the-board price increases on garments, we're keeping the prices of many popular items the same as last year. In cases where we have raised prices, we have kept the increase as small as possible.

For Sale: Ay-up Complete Lighting System
I am selling my Ay-Up complete lighting system because I got a new kit for a gift. I used these lights for night MTB rides. They provide plenty of light to have a wonderful night ride. The light is bright and clear. You can read about Ay-Up lights here: http://www.ayup-lights.com/
These lights are also very good for road riding commuters. The kit has tons of stuff. 3 batteries for all occasions, chargers (including car), mounts and etc. The kits retail for $380+shipping brand new. The batteries last a long time. I've never had my lights run out of juice on a night ride. $150 is the price so don't send me messages with other offers. The lights are guaranteed for life and practically indestructible.
