seminar begins with a continental breakfast at 8:45 am,
the speakers begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and the program concludes
at 3:00 p.m. -- right in the Sea-Tac Airport Conference Center -- so you can easily fly in and out of Seattle that same day. You may also participate in an optional free tour
of state-of-the-art sustainability in action at the Sea-Tac
Airport immediately following the seminar and concluding by 4:30 p.m.

Mario Cordero, Commissioner, U.S. Federal Maritime Commission
Commissioner Mario Cordero was nominated by President Barack Obama in 2010 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2011. Prior
to his FMC appointment, he was an attorney in private practice and
served eight years on the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners
where he spearheaded the Port's pioneering Green Port
Policy. Mario served as APP Board President in
2010-11. He also served as a professor of political science
at Long Beach City College, sat on the Long Beach Community Development
Commission, and served as Vice Chair of the Long Beach Ethics Review
Task Force. Mario received his BS in Political
Science from California State University, Long Beach, and his JD from
the Santa Clara University School of Law.
Kristin Decas, Executive Director, Port of Hueneme, California USA
Kristin Decas has
served as Executive Director of Port of Hueneme since 2012. Previously
she served for five years as chief executive officer and director for
the New Bedford Harbor Development Commission south of Boston.
She also spent six years working for the governor of Massachusetts'
Seaport Council, an organization investing in port
development. Kristin studied economics at the
University of Vermont and environmental policy and law at the
University of Denver. The Port of Hueneme recently
received a Sustainability Award from the California Senate
for its sustainable modernization, including the shoreside
power project that will allow vessels to plug in while docked at the
port and shut down their diesel engines, keeping nitrogen oxide and
particulate matters out of the air.
Chris Aldridge, Geospatial Manager, David Evans & Associates
is the Geospatial Manager at David Evans & Associates, Inc.
He has been practicing aerial photogrammetry for over 27 years
and has performed virtually every technical task from project planning
through final map generation. He is experienced in LiDAR, flight
and control planning, image processing, aerial triangulation, stereo
compilation, orthophoto generation, and project and program
management. Chris has managed
projects for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Forest
Service, Oregon DOT, Washington DOT, the Port of Portland, and numerous
public agencies and private companies. Chris earned a
BA from Kent State University, is a Certified Photogrammetrist (ASPRS),
an Oregon Registered Professional Photogrammetrist, and a Surveyor
Photogrammetrist in Virginia.

FCS GROUP HITS 25 YEARS, PROMOTES TWO
a Northwest economic and management consulting firm specializing in
port market and financial analyses, is celebrating its 25th year of
business. In line with its growth and success, FCS Group recently
promoted two of its consultants, Christopher Gonzalez and Sergey Tarasov, to the roles of project manager.
Chris and Sergey work with FCS Group's senior economist, Todd Chase.
Todd recently presented at the APP Winter Conference on "Fiscal
Sustainability Benchmarks for Ports" and is assisting several
Oregon and Washington ports with economic impact assessments to
guide strategic planning and leverage non-local grant

GUAM HIRES NEW PORT GENERAL MANAGER & BREAKS GROUND FOR PORT MODERNIZATION
|The Port Authority of Guam (PAG) Board of Directors recently broke ground on their long-anticipated Port Modernization Project, ushering in capital improvement projects needed to accommodate organic growth and the military build-up. Funded
in large part by a $50 million grant from the U.S. Department of
Defense and administered in tandem with the U.S. Department of
Transportation's Maritime Administration (MARAD), the modernization
plan for Guam's only commercial seaport will commence with the
The PAG Board also recently hired Joanne Brown as
their new General Manager. Joanne previously served as director
of Guam's Department of Public Works. She earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree from the University of Guam and a Master's Degree
in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
