"Embarking on our Next 100 Years"

You can still register for APP's historic 100th Annual Conference hosted by the Port of Redwood City at the magnificent Hotel Sofitel San Francisco Bay on August 4-7, 2013.
At the Annual Conference, you and your companion will enjoy the unique opportunity to tour four very different ports in action: a land tour of the Port of Redwood City and a special cruise tour of the Port of Oakland, Port of Richmond, and Port of San Francisco on board the Chardonnay yacht

Director of Port Administration, American Samoa
Claire was confirmed by the American Samoa House of Representatives and Senate earlier this year as Director of Port Administration.  
A former Education Department director, she earned a doctorate degree in education from Brigham Young University and both master's and bachelor's degrees from the University of Portland. 

James D. Bartha, Region Chief of Contracting
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Pacific Division  

Before joining the Corps, Jim was the Western Region Chief of Contracts for the U.S. Department of Transportation's Maritime Administration, Contracting Officer with the Naval Sea Systems Command, and Head of Combat and Weapons Systems Contracts for the Naval Surface Warfare Center.


He received his Bachelor of Sciences and a Master of Public Administration from American University.



Erik Soderberg, SE, Vice President

Liftech Consultants Inc.

Erik brings experience in the design, review, and modification of structures including container cranes, wharves, buildings, heavy lift equipment, and rigging structures. 


He has consulted on hundreds of cranes, participated in the design of over a half dozen wharf structures, and designed many crane transfer systems ranging from curved rails to shuttle systems.  He has engineered repairs for dozens of container crane structures and for several bulk loaders.
