Phil,

First of all Merry Christmas to you and your family.

In follow up to the letter I sent you.  Here are the goals I have for Piedmont for the Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan.  The first two are FEMA requirements.

I tried to be vague on the sewer water issue, I can change or delete it if you want.

Do you want a fourth goal for flash flooding and drainages?

Please let me know on this.  I need to bring the trusties a resolution accepting the planning in January.  I will provide Piedmont a copy of the PDM  plan draft, in the next few days.

Safe drinking water and comprehensive sewer system

Description

The residents currently depend on shallow water wells and old septic systems for drinking water, hygiene and sanitation.

Contaminated drinking water - health of population

Problem Statement

It is necessary for  Piedmont to provide safe drinking water.

Funding Sources

Medium

Responsible Jurisdiction

Piedmont

Target Completion Date

In next 5 years if funding is available

Cost Benefit

The cost to the city will be high but the cost to the population from contaminated water is much higher in illness and potentially death.

Ratio 1 to 2, due to high cost of water projects and limited grants.
